This project explores the feasibility of mixed reality equipment HoloLens in the field of the museum tour. Based on the legacy of existing guide ways and the exact needs of the museum, an immersive guide scheme based on the HoloLens is designed and implemented.

The client/server framework, the client is deployed on the Microsoft HoloLens and the server is the Photon Server, which has several features such as running autonomously, load balancing, modifiable SDK and so on, the server construction.

Most museum solutions are mainly based on the website, smartphone and Virtual Reality (VR) technology, AR museum applications are also mainly deployed on the smartphone. We explores the feasibility of mixed reality equipment HoloLens in the field of the museum tour. Based on the legacy of existing guide ways and the exact needs of the museum, an immersive guide scheme based on the HoloLens is designed and implemented. The problems in the explanatory scene and remote guide scene in museums are analyzed, and then immersive solutions are proposed for the two scenarios. Firstly, the immersive guide system conveys the cultural relics information and related cultural relics information to users based on the requirements of guide, adopts appropriate view design and supports multiple user interactions. Secondly, in view of the inconsistency of vision in the explanation scenario, the view sharing based on multi-user is designed and used to remind users who are separated from the explanation group to pay attention to the content of the explanation. Considering the inconsistency of vision and the difficulty of communication between visitors and remote commentators in the scene of remote museum guide, the system designs the view sharing and uses voice input to support visitors' remote guided tours.
